Frequently Asked Questions

I’m embarrassed to ask for a diarrhoea treatment. What should I do?

Diarrhoea will have an emotional effect as well as a physical one and it can feel embarrassing asking for treatments at your local pharmacy. Diarrhoea is one of the most common complaints that your pharmacist will deal with. Pharmacy staff is trained to give you the best advice and treatment possible, so if you need help finding the right product for you, you can always privately talk to them for their advice.

How long should diarrhoea last?

Diarrhoea normally lasts 5 to 7 days in an adult. If the symptoms persist after 10 consecutive days of using Dioclear or of symptoms get worse before the 10 days, you should consult your doctor.

Will an oral rehydration solution treat my diarrhoea?

An oral rehydration solution will replace any lost fluids and electrolytes and help prevent dehydration, but it will not treat the symptoms of diarrhoea. Dioclear can be used alongside rehydration salts, helping stop the symptoms of diarrhoea as well as rehydrating the body.
